New Businesses in Very Old Buildings

Some very nice restraunts, bars, stores and other businessescan be found just East of the Commons along River Drive. Isabelle Bloom and Gendler's Wine and Spirits are among those.

John Deere Museum and Gift Shop

A focal point in the Commons is the replica of John Deere's first forge shop located in Grand Detour. It houses a spectacular museum incluing touch screen monitors to trace the history of agriculture in America. The next building to the west houses a John Deere Memorabilia and Gift Shop and a fine restraunt on the ground floor. The upper several floors is the offices for John Deere Health Care, which has recently been sold.

Mark of the Quad Cities

An other photo of this marvelous entertainment center taken this spring.

Public Transportation Cener

Another photo of our central bus terminal and transportation system including overhead parking and a skyway to the Mark.

Old Moline High School

Picture from old Moline/Rock Island Penny Post Cards. This must be the High School Building that pre-dated the one we went to. I believe it is across 16th Street and North a block.

Panaramic View of Old Moline

This is how our town looked when we were still in Swaddeling cloths. Old Penny Post Card.
